Michelle Thomas
Michelle moved to Colorado in 1997 from Oklahoma and landed in Grand Junction in 2010. In addition to teaching yoga, she is a middle school math teacher. Michelle has a passion for bringing yoga to the youth. She incorporates yoga philosophy into the classroom with the hope of encouraging kids to be more comfortable with themselves and more grounded to approach difficult feelings and situations. Outside of teaching and practicing yoga, you can find her traveling, hiking, camping, snowboarding, scuba diving, and hanging out with her sweet pupperdoodle (Duke).

Michelle began yoga as a self study several years ago. A friend introduced her to practicing at Half Moon Yoga studio; here, she fell in love with its community and the philosophy of Baptiste Yoga. She completed her Baptiste 200 RYT and Yin Yoga training at Half Moon. Michelle attributes her yoga practice to helping her grow stronger, more flexible and fearless, both on and off the mat. Yoga inspires her to practice mindful living, to be present in each moment and choose to hold loving space for all beings. Michelle's goal is to guide yogis through a practice where each person steps off the mat feeling rejuvenated, empowered, and grounded.
