Carissa Fisher

Carissa is a Grand Junction native with a passion for movement. She began dancing at the age of three and continued dancing, teaching, and choreographing competitively through 2014. She found solace in yoga after several injuries that prevented her from continuing her dance career. While she was drawn to the room for the physical benefits, she keeps returning to the mat for the spiritual transformation that the heat and the asanas create for her.

Carissa has worked at Half Moon as an ambassador for just under two years. Because of her familiarity and love for the studio and her 9 years of dance teaching experience, completing a yoga training felt like a natural next step. She is a recent graduate of the 200 hour RYT training with Half Moon. Carissa has found yoga to be a powerful tool to help heal from past trauma and manage symptoms of both physical and psychological struggles and hopes to guide others to find healing within themselves.

When Carissa isn’t at Half Moon, you can find her hiking, riding her bike with her husband, Jake, creating art, or serving her community. She looks forward to bearing witness to other people’s journey on the mat and continuing to foster growth and strength in the community through this practice.
